Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pacing and Complex Device service at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Due to the current post holder leaving, we require a dynamic Band 3 support worker to join the team. This is a 23-hour post working on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with the Thursday being a slightly longer day. The team consists of a full time B6 Device Nurse Specialist and a B5 part time nurse who deliver the pacing and device service alongside Consultant Cardiologists, radiographers and Cardiac Physiologists. Wrexham Maelor is the main complex device implantation centre for North Wales so you will be joining a highly skilled, committed team.
Main duties of the job
You will support the busy Pacing and Complex Devices service on implantation days. Main duties will involve greeting patients into the Ambulatory care area and ensuring they are cannulated and have venepuncture performed if required. You will escort patients to and from pacing theatre, reassure and support patients during their procedure and perform observations. You will assist with procedures as required and will be responsible for ensuing equipment stock is maintained. You may need to perform ECGs and simple dressings. You will work under the supervision of the qualified nurse.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
