Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) and Acute Respiratory Team within central area in BCUHB.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is currently delivered within a local community centre in Bodelwyddan and we are looking to re-expand the service post-COVID back to the Llandudno area. The candidate will be required to work flexibly across the central area to enable service delivery and meet patient's needs.
The post will also include working within the acute respiratory physiotherapy team in Glan Clwyd Hospital.
You will be expected to take an active role in all phases of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation pathway. The applicant will have a high standard of clinical and communication skills, be able to work independently as well as being an excellent team player and actively engage in departmental and service development as well as regular audit and research. You will have experience of a respiratory rotation at band 6 level; an awareness of cardiac disease and rehabilitation is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Working with the multidisciplinary Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team that includes a physiotherapist, occupational therapists, technical instructors, advanced practitioner, medical and nursing cardiac/respiratory teams and all therapy staff across BCUHB and working with the Acute Respiratory team in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
To be responsible for the rehabilitation of patients with chronic respiratory diseases (across all phases of rehabilitation to include an individual assessment and post rehabilitation exit routes).
Working with teams in East and West to initiate and plan new projects to encourage service development. Evaluate own practice and that of others.
To be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality, clinically effective care and patient experience, and to forge close links and improve communication channels with other members of primary and the health care team to maximise the effectiveness.
To participate in clinical education and supervision for physiotherapy students, other healthcare/research students in the department, and acting as a role model and clinical resource demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership in the specialist area.
Keeping up to date with recent advances in the field of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and to promote the use of evidence based practise.
Please note this is a 7 day working contract including participation on the respiratory on-call rota.
