Job summary
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is the local health board of NHS Wales with responsible for the delivery of health care services to more than 700,000 people across six counties (Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham).
BCUHB have an exciting opportunity for two highly experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic Cyber Security professionals to join our growing Cyber Security and Compliance Team as either Cyber Security Lead Officer (Compliance) or Cyber Security Lead Officer (Operations).
The outstanding candidates will have extensive experience of working at a senior technical level within ICT and will play a vital role in protecting the complex and critical ICT infrastructure which underpins patient care and treatment, as well as ensuring ongoing compliance with the Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018 (NIS-R).
The post holder will use high level communication skills, written and verbal and have an ability to engage with partnership colleagues across the health sector, 3rd party suppliers & senior managers.
Upon appointment the successful candidates will be allocated to Ysbyty Maelor Wrexham Hospital, Ysbyty Abergele Hospital or Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital Bangor as their main base, depending on their home address. There is an expectation that the successful candidates will have the ability to travel across the North Wales region as required by the needs of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a growing Cyber Security and Compliance team, the post holder will;
1. Advise on practical and proportionate controls which mitigate Cyber Security risks while supporting the achievement of organisational goals.
2. Oversee day to day Cyber Security operations and compliance activities
3. Horizon scanning - advise the organisation on innovation and developments in the Cyber Security industry.
4. Contribute to national and local ICT projects, providing expert, technical advice on Cyber Security risks.
5. Lead on the investigation and reporting of Cyber Security incidents in line with the Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018 (NIS-R), developing relevant processes and ensuring lessons learned are documented and acted upon.
6. Lead on the development of an Information Security Management System aligned to ISO27001, including Risk Assessment of BCUHB ICT systems.
7. Oversee the development of Vulnerability Management and Threat Hunting, including KPI's.
8. Act as a role model; mentoring, coaching and developing other members of the Cyber Security and Compliance Team.
9. Provide oversight of Cyber Security improvements contributing to achievement and attainment of Cyber Essentials.
10. Development of supplier due diligence and accreditation processes including annual re-accreditation.
11. Export knowledge of Antivirus, Malware, SIEM, Firewall, IPS, Patch Management.
