Job summary
Due to the recent managerial restructure within the Pharmacy Production Unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and forward thinking GPhC registered Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants who work within the Production Unit, as well as daily workload planning and providing leadership throughout the team. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to partake in Product Approval of Chemotherapy whereby they will have either already undertaken or be willing to undertake the Product Approval Accreditation Programme.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role will also include;
- Prioritising workload demands to ensure continuity of supply of medication prepared within the Production Unit, including chemotherapy, parental nutrition and over-labelled medicines.
- Managing and organising process, staff and equipment validation broth tests.
- Co-ordinating the training and supervision of staff working within the Pharmacy Production Unit.
- Partaking in the various aspects of the Pharmaceutical Quality System.
To be considered for this role, you should hold a high level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice principles and Pharmaceutical Technical Services procedures. You should also be qualified in pre and in-process checking within Technical Services, and hold experience of aseptic manipulation and personnel management.
