Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and competent staff member with a relevant level of experience and education to join the East Neurodevelopmental Team . The team has a vacancy for a part time Band 4 Assistant Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to support the work with ADHD assessments on a Fixed Term basis until March 2025.

Main duties of the job

The team provides assessment and intervention for children and young people with / or suspected of having a Neurodevelopmental condition (Autism Spectrum Disorder / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder etc). This role will be specifically for carrying out assessment to consider ADHD within a multi-disciplinary team. The role will include acting as a contact point for parents, during their child's ADHD assessment, conducting school based observation, collecting information where appropriate from school staff and carrying out computer based assessment (Qb test). Full training to undertake the role will be provided as part of an induction package.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • NVQ Level 4 and / or BTECH Early Years or NNEB Or equivalent level of relevant education / training
  • An understanding of research and evidence based practice
  • To possess an understanding of 'normal' child development

Desirable

  • Any relevant formal training within the area of Neurodevelopment/ child development
  • Understanding of positive parenting and behavioural management of children

Experience
