Job summary
To provide 7 day week operational management of the sexual health clinics with support from the acute matron for sexual health to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of integrated sexual health services and HIV service
As an experienced clinical practitioner, the post holder will provide clinical leadership and support to staff, and be proactive in the innovative development of the service and the implementation and monitoring of evidence-based healthcare.
The role will involve 40% management responsibility and 60% clinical work and the post holder will be expected to cross cover clinics when the need arises.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality sexual health/contraception and HIV service to all clients accessing the sexual health clinics
To influence the development of the nurses role within the integrated sexual health service
To manage change within the team and to ensure the smooth transition of new ways of working
To identify and assess clients needs and the development, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care. Taking a medical and sexual history in the specialised area of contraception and sexual health and
To demonstrate up to date, research based knowledge/evidence and competence of contraceptive methods and sexual health care/HIV etc
To be an effective member of the multidisciplinary team
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
