Glan Clwyd Hospital

Cardiology Pacing Consultant

September2023

This new post joins eight other full-time Consultant Cardiologists. It is staffed by consultant cardiologists based in all three District General Hospitals along with consultants from radiology providing cardiac intervention and imaging. This post will be based at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The primary roles of this post are to

  • Permanent pacemaker and device implantation
  • Provide advanced expertise in heart failure
  • Provide a general inpatient and outpatient cardiology service supported by other members of the department.

  • Local and regional cardiology service management
  • Professional supervision and teaching of junior medical staff.
  • Contributions to local undergraduate and postgraduate activity.
  • Participation in clinical audit, continuing professional development and clinical governance activities on a local, Health Board and All Wales basis.
  • Development of research and professional interests.
