Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic ambitious doctor hoping to gain experience in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery before competing to enter core surgical training. This post is suitable for a doctor at the start of their career and will enable the candidate to develop their knowledge and skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics in order to strengthen their chance of entering a training post. The candidate will be allocated a clinical supervisor and will be expected to be actively involved in quality improvement, audit and teaching. They will be supported in taking study leave to attend surgical conferences and encouraged to present projects.
This role has an opportunity to be made permanent after 12 months.
Main duties of the job
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board wishes to appoint Trauma & Orthopaedic Clinical Fellows.
The Trauma & Orthopaedic Team are hardworking, highly motivated dedicated team of medical and nursing staff, the successful appointee will be expected to provide a high quality, modern service in a rapidly developing unit. This post will be expected to participate in the SHO resident on call rota 1:9.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is the largest Health Board in Wales, The Health Board provides a full range of elective and non-elective secondary care services, although it is highly emergency driven with a very busy ED Departments. As part of the Trauma and Orthopaedics team you will make an important contribution to the provision of patient treatment and care within the Health Board.

- MBBS or equialent medical Qualfication - Working towards completion of MRCS or equivalent at time of Application MIMMS ATLS
- Eligibity of full Registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
- Evidence of Achievement of Foundation competencies by the time of appointment in linie with GMC

- Evidence of relevant academic & research achievements, e.g. degrees, prizes, awards, distinctions, publications, presentations, other achievements
