This post in Acute Medicine is based at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl, North wales. Presently there are 4 acute physicians with plans to appoint more. The appointee will also undertake sessions in the sub-speciality area of their choice. This could include: Elderly Care, Stroke, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, Renal Medicine, or Diabetes & Endocrinology.
As part of the Health Board's strategic collaboration with Bangor University, individuals with an interest in teaching and research who can demonstrate and agree a possible contribution to the School can be considered and nominated for recognition through the University's process for granting honorary titlesand help to deliver our shared vision for the North Wales School of Medicine and Health.
Main duties of the job
The post holder would be encouraged to develop clinical or academic specialist interests. Part time working or a job share would also be considered. There is a dedicated team supporting the consultants on AMU, currently consisting of 1 SpR, 1 CT Trainee, I FY2, 1 FY1. There is also support from 3 ANPs attached to the team and Welsh Government has recently invested further funding to develop our model of care including multi disciplinary teams.
