Amethyst Team Administrator / Crisis Worker
The Amethyst Sexual Assault Referral Centre is a partnership initiative between North Wales Police, Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board and Third Sector Agencies. The centre provides support to women, men and children in North Wales who have been raped or sexually assaulted. The Centre aims is to provide a comprehensive approach to rape and sexual assault.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Amethyst SARC Team Administrator / Crisis Worker. This role requires excellent communication and administration skills. An understanding of the potential impact of sexual violence, compassion with a genuine commitment to working with this client group is essential.
The post holder will be required to work shifts, Monday to Friday between 7am - 3pm and 11am - 7pm. The post holder may also be required to cover out of hours rota, (overnight/weekends).
Successful applicants will be required to undergo DBS checks and North Wales Police vetting.
Main duties of the job
- Provide comprehensive effective clerical and administrative services for the Centre.
- The post holder will deal directly with individual enquiries from clients, police officers, forensic physicians, Health practitioners, and other SARC partner agencies, providing information within the terms of confidentiality policies.
- Receive clients and visitors into the Centre and ensure appropriate communication with team members.
- All staff will be required to respond to urgent requests for services to victims of rape or serious sexual assault who have made a recent report to the Police, Health Services, other partner agencies or as a self referral.
- The post holder will be required to undertake the Crisis Worker training to provide assistance to the Forensic Physician if required during office hours.
- Promote and publicise the Centre and 'Good Practice' for joint working with internal and external bodies
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
