An exiting opportunity has arisen to join the Diabetes Team in the West of North Wales as a Band 8a Lead Operational Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Through strong clinical leadership the post holder will lead, develop and professionally line manage a defined group of staff to maintain and improve standards of care and experience for patients with diabetes care needs. He/she will promote best practice which inspires and motivates others, empowering them to ensure that staff within their areas of influence/and responsibility have the support to provide and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients and relatives. The post holder will undertake a key role in ensuring the service meets the quality, activity and financial targets through effective planning, delivery, service improvement and management of performance improvement. This will be undertaken in collaboration with the Area Team, Clinical Lead for Diabetes and multi disciplinary professional team and in line with local and national targets to ensure the service provision meets the needs of the population. He/she will assume a leadership role in partnership with other health care professionals and receive, interpret and implement National or other Local Guidelines relating to Diabetes Care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide forward-thinking clinical and professional leadership to staff ensuring that diabetes care is delivered to a consistently high standard.

- Practice Level 6/7 module in Diabetes care.
- Teaching certificate. Extended scope i.e. V300
- Independent nurse prescribing.
