Deputy Ward Manager- Kestrel Ward Inpatient CAMHS

We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for an experienced and motivated RMN with excellent communication skills and a passion for leadership to apply for the role of Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager on Kestrel Ward at the North Wales Adolescent Service in Abergele.

Kestrel ward is in an inpatient CAMHS setting with young people between the ages of 11 and 17 years old with a range of mental health presentations. You will need to have a flexible approach and be able to adapt your skills and abilities to suit a range of needs and presentations.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

As a Deputy Ward manager you will support and assist the Ward Manager in the effective operational management and leadership of the inpatient ward. You will lead by example to provide support, advice and training to the wider nursing team, undertaking delegated responsibilities and deputising for the Ward manager when required.

Deputy ward managers on Kestrel ward are proactive members of the management team. Key responsibilities include direct line management of junior staff, management of staffing levels, delivery of clinical supervision, service development and maintaining high standards of quality and care.

Kestrel ward provides a 24/7 service and at times you will need to be flexible to meet a range of shifts which may include some night or weekend work as well as contributing to the on call nursing Rota.
