Job summary

Applications are welcomed from both new and existing Band 5 Physiotherapists.An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 5 Physiotherapist based in the Maelor Hospital in Wrexham.

A comprehensive list of rotations are covered within the role, these include:

  • MSK
  • Acute Medical Team covering ED and Frailty
  • Respiratory
  • Neuro: Acute stroke and Stroke rehab / Early supported discharge
  • Community: Home First, ICF, Domi and CRT
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Rehabilitation in Community Hospitals
  • Paediatrics
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The Band 5's will join a large supportive innovative team. Some rotations offer the opportunity to work in the Community Hospitals in Wrexham and Flintshire.

The Physiotherapy service in BCUHB offers a whole career pathway to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. Service improvement and development is encouraged and all staff have access to regular supervision and training.This is an opportunity to work in large established and supportive team in a beautiful part of the UK.

Main duties of the job

To carry out physiotherapy assessments and treatments; developing individualised therapeutic treatment programmes for a specialised caseload in the relevant clinical area. Patients may include those with physical and psychological problems in area of speciality. Team leader, Clinical Specialist or Advanced Practitioners are available for clinical and managerial support.

  • To ensure a high standard of care for each patient working with patients, families or carers, multi-agency teams and disciplines involved.
  • To communicate with these patients, carers, agencies and other disciplines in an appropriate manner, often with sensitive information, diagnoses or outcomes.
  • To supervise Technical Instructors, Students and other members of the multidisciplinary or multiagency teams.
  • To train and supervise patients, families or carers and staff from other disciplines or agencies to carry out programmes of care devised by the therapist.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
