Job summary
We are seeking a full time, permanent, Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language therapist to work in our supported and motivated Learning Disabilities Speech and Language Therapy team.
We are looking for a self-motivated therapist who is passionate about working and providing high quality services and excellent health outcomes to children and young people with learning disabilities and their families. We are seeking someone with a dynamic approach, who can work collaboratively and effectively with others within both the SLT team and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within special schools across Gwynedd and Anglesey.
Dysphagia competencies are desirable but not essential and we will fully support the therapist to train and obtain certified competencies if needed.
The SLT team is committed to evidence-based practice and continuing professional development. Regular team meetings and regular supervision ensure that a high quality of service is provided, and the post holder will contribute to the development of a service which is constantly seeking to improve.
The population of Gwynedd and Anglesey is naturally bilingual and education services are provided bilingually in Welsh and English.Therefore a bilingual Welsh/English speaker is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role
