Parent Infant Mental Health Therapist

Job summary

The Gwent Parent Infant Service (GPIMHS) are offering an exciting opportunity for a Therapist to work 2 days Pan Gwent.

The post holder will deliver an effective, comprehensive and highly specialised therapeutic service to vulnerable babies, toddlers and their families. Providing a range of liaison activities which promote and support parent-infant mental health and early intervention.

Working alongside Health Visiting and other community settings, providing consultation, supervision, advice, training, support and information about parent-infant mental health.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will ensure the provision of evidence based therapeutic intervention for infants and children up to the age of 2, and their parents, and provide expertise and specialist therapeutic advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' treatment plan. Other professionals may seek post-holder's opinion in areas of specialty.

  • Specialist knowledge of infant mental health, including knowledge of child development and attachment theory.
