Job summary

A vacancy has arisen in the Children's OT Service. We have a full time Band 6 post to be based at Caerphilly Children's Centre which offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled and innovative practitioner to enhance their assessment and intervention skills within a highly specialised area of practice. Previous experience of working with children with disabilities and developmental difficulties is essential for all applicants. The successful applicant will hold a complex and varied caseload in the community and will work alongside colleagues in the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team to deliver high quality services to children and young people with disabilities and their families. The successful applicant will be supported in their clinical and professional development and funding is available for internal and external training. Supervision and a regular PADR review are an integral part of staff development within this OT service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

This post is part of a Gwent-wide service which comprises three children's centres and a staff group of 28 OTs and OT support workers working from the centres across the whole of Gwent. The service is actively developing new roles and ways of working and is currently seeking to develop a stronger interface across the health, education and social care boundary to ensure that children and young people referred to the service have access to high quality services delivered by experienced OTs with highly specialist skills.
