Job summary
Exciting opportunities have become available within Trauma & Orthopaedics on our Elective Ward, C7W at RGH. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join our team. We strive to improve discharge planning whilst ensuring all patients are cared for holistically.
Applications are invited from Health Care Support Worker's with good communication skills both written and verbal and who are committed to providing high standards of care for patients, their families and carers within a hospital setting.
Main duties of the job
Successfully complete a locally approved orientation programme.To support a clinical environment that is patient and public focused.To assist patients to achieve physical spiritual and psychological comfort.To participate in the delivery of patients care and undertake clinical duties that are allocated and directly supervised by a registered nurse.Exchanges factual information with patients using persuasion, reassurance, tact, empathy; may be barriers to understanding.To share with Team Leader information relating to the patients care.Assist with patients nutritional needs to include feeding assistance.To report any changes in a patient's condition to the nurse in charge and respond to clinical urgencies
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is currently advertised at Band 2. The role is under review within the Health Board as part of a national review and may, in future, progress to Band 3 with an updated job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and will support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements
