Job summary
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in the development and delivery of effective commissioning of primary care contracts across ABUHB in accordance with local and national commissioning strategies and priorities.
This is a key management role with responsibility for supporting a wide-ranging agenda through the delivery of patient-centred, safe, effective primary healthcare services across ABUHB.
The post holder will support the Primary Care Contracting Team with the delivery, contract management and long-term strategic planning of Primary and Community Care services across ABUHB and support service delivery within the Prison. They will also support the Primary Care Contracting Team in taking forward the strategic agenda for the Health Board.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as the day-to-day contact for resolving contract management issues that arise within primary care. This will involve providing and receiving complex, sensitive or contentious information where there are barriers to understanding or acceptance, which are overcome using developed interpersonal and communication skills.
The post holder will demonstrate appropriate analytical ability, comprehension skills, intellectual capacity andknowledge of relevant contract/legislation, regulatory frameworks, performance management, clinical governance and financial arrangements across Primary and Community Care services.
This will include:
Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring Primary Care and Community Services/Contracts for the ABUHB incorporating NHS guidance and policies/strategic direction in Wales.
Managing the Primary Care and Community Services/Contracts, including variations and performance management.
Contributing to the development and implementation of service specification.
Contributing to the developing, implementing and monitoring the Primary Care Strategies, ensuring that they meet the needs of our population and improve access.
Assisting with the management of the Primary Care budgets including contractor's fees and allowances.
Ensuring that knowledge of legislation and regulation relating to Primary Care professions is kept updated
