Job summary
ABUHB is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as a Band 6 General Radiographer. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an innovative and expanding Health Board.
As a senior radiographer you would be expected to provide clinical excellence and assist in managing the day to day organisation of the clinical area providing effective and efficient leadership. Applicants should be flexible, patient focused, and committed to delivering the highest standards of clinical care.
The successful candidate will be able to gain a wide range of experience. As an imaging department we are committed to providing increased opportunities to gain more experience in specialist areas and professional development.
The department hosts undergraduate radiography students on placement from Cardiff University so you will be expected to be actively involved in their training and supervision as part of your role, whilst supporting the wider team. All candidates must be enthusiastic about teaching and supporting learners in the clinical environment.
This position carries a commitment to out of hours and 7 day working at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.
The successful candidate will be based at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr but may be required to work at other sites within ABUHB as per service requirements.

Main duties of the job
To work within the general Radiology department of Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr as a base site although there may be requirement to work on other sites within the Health Board as per service requirements. To provide high quality imaging to all patients whilst also offering high levels of care. To participate in the out of hours rota as required. To participate in QA and audit as required and to feed these results back to the relevant working groups. To work with Healthcare Professionals within Radiology and other departments within the Health Board. To work with students but also offer teaching and learning to colleagues. To work alongside the department Manager or take the appropriate action in the absence of the Manager with regards to complaints, incidents or near misses, development of Policies & Procedures and Risk Assessments. To help to create and maintain a proactive learning environment for all staff and to provide a positive image of the Health Board.
