Medical Secretary - Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Division

Job summary

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced medical secretary to provide efficient and effective secretarial and administrative support to the medical staff at Gold Tops. To work collaboratively with administrative colleagues within the team to provide support to the wider clinical team within the Mental Health Directorate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To work flexibly to provide an efficient, high quality secretarial, administrative and support service to the Consultant Psychiatrist and members of the medical team, including supporting the wider clinical team, as required.

To accurately carry out from audio/copy/shorthand the typing of service user related and general correspondence using the appropriate software to agreed Health Board standards and within specified timescales.

To attend meetings and take minutes as required, and ensure that appropriate administrative follow-up action is taken as necessary. This may include multi-disciplinary team and wider service meetings as necessary.

Works independently to defined policies and procedures and manages own workload.
