Job summary
We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals who share our Health Board values to fill a number of Band 6 (AFC) pharmacist posts in secondary care across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
We have an exciting range of formal development opportunities to complement the on site development pathways in place for the Band 6 pharmacist roles. There will be rotational opportunities and the departments will work with the individual candidates to identify a suitable programme to meet the individual's needs. This will include completion of the Post-registration Foundation Pharmacist qualification.

There is a range of experienced and knowledgeable mentors and tutors at each site who will support you as you progress through the various development programmes on offer. Successful candidates may be required to rotate between sites to build their clinical knowledge and to experience different clinical specialist areas.

Main duties of the job
To deliver a clinical pharmacy service to patients, medical and nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in accordance with legal and professional requirements and standards.
To provide ward-based medicines management service to general clinical areas as per rotation.
To supervise pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and less experienced pharmacists, Foundation trainee pharmacists and students.
To participate in a planned rotational programme.
To provide Professional / Clinical cover for the dispensary services.
To complete a training programme.
This post is fixed term for 2 years to meet the needs of the service, with a desired start date of August 2026.
