Job summary
Are you a pharmacist looking to work in a GP practice?
This roles include working in a clinical role in our GP practice to support medicines management and improve patient care. This will include reviewing repeat prescriptions, undertaking medication reviews to ensure safe and cost effective prescribing in line with National prescribing indicators
You will be based in GP practice working with multidisciplinary team alongside the health board primary care medicines management team.
There is professional support and engagement with the ABUHB medicines management team, and you can join the ABUHB network of practice pharmacists.
This is a fixed term post for 2 months to cover the needs of the service
Main duties of the job
Working with GPs, Practice nurses and practice staff to
- To improve the quality and effectiveness of medicines management within GP practices
- To provide patient focussed, prudent healthcare
- To promote medicines safety and review polypharmacy
- To develop the practice pharmacist role, becoming a core member of the practice team working effectively with other health and social care professionals delivering services to patients
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
