Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job:
To help to shape the strategic direction of Education and Training at ABUHB and beyond, in consultation with the Education and Training team and Pharmacy Management Team. This includes organising, evaluating and delivering training and development programmes within Pharmacy Services.
To provide clinical leadership and skills in the designated speciality area, including supporting the implementation of medicines optimisation strategies, improving patient flow, and service improvements aimed at enhancing patient care and safety.
To work across both Cardiff University School of Pharmacy as an honorary lecturer and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as an advanced clinical pharmacist and education lead. Clinical services will include ward based clinical care, dispensary sessions and prescribing services where applicable at our Royal Gwent hospital site.
To act as a non-medical prescriber when required, undertaking agreed sessions within sphere of competence, initiating/modifying medication, monitoring therapy and adjusting treatment options.
To act as a professional role model in the field of Pharmacy practice in both organisations, and provide a consistently high standard of practice in line with the ABUHB Pharmacy Vision.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 30 months from start date due to funding.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
