Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Families & Therapies Division to be part of the administration team based at Serennu Children's Centre. It is a busy but friendly and supportive team and we need someone who is able to support us with the service that we provide to children and young people with disabilities and developmental difficulties.
The successful post holder will be based in Serennu Children's Centre but will be expected to travel to alternative sites to cover for annual leave/sickness.
You need to be well organised and practical and must have:
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- good keyboard skills and excellent IT skills with the ability to use all Microsoft packages with confidence
- experience of an office / reception environment is desirable as is a calm, patient and polite telephone manner
- be able to work to deadlines
- be interested in the wellbeing of children and young people
- be able to work on your own initiative when the need arises.
Main duties of the job
- To collect and open post
- Typing of emails and other correspondence as and when required
- To act as the first point of contact for the Serennu Children's Centre when required, answer the telephone and liaise with the general public, staff and other professionals within the Health Board in a sympathetic and professional manner.
- Carrying out general clerical duties, including filing correspondence both manually and electronically.
- Send out signed letters and reports in a timely manner.
- To keep up to date with filing and scanning according to department procedures.
- To maintain and develop databases and systems to support the smooth running of the children's centre.
- To carry out any other duties compatible with the grade which may be assigned from time to time by the Children Centre Team Lead.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
