Job summary
The Ward Assistant will ensure a sustainable workplace organisation method where all equipment and supplies are located in the most efficient and logical place, resources are perpetually stocked, labelled, charged and ready for use, the nurses' station is clutter-free and methodical and timely patient flow is enabled by efficient bed-space cleaning and preparation.
The role has been designed to release nursing time to provide direct patient care with Registered Nurses doing only what Registered Nurses should do with the delegation of non-clinical responsibilities and tasks to the Ward Assistant.
Main duties of the job
The Ward Assistant will carrying out routine observation of the ward environment and will act to ensure a well organised ward, undertaking cleaning of clinical areas using appropriate equipment, materials and cleaning products, to the method and frequencies required, ward based catering tasks, movement of patients, stock control and administration duties.
The Ward Assistant will work closely with Facilities Colleagues, Ward Clerks, Porters & Stock Controllers complementing their roles and responsibilities with a specific focus on releasing nurses' time to care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
