An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative pharmacist to join our clinical team, as theCardiologyDirectorate Pharmacist. This post is based at the Grange University Hospital (GUH),a Specialist and Critical Care Centre,treatingour most seriously ill patients. Excellent clinical, organisational and leadership skills are vital for this role, and you will be an integral part of the team of Medical Directorate Pharmacists at GUH.

This extremely rewardingrole will require anindividual with a broad-based clinic knowledge with experience of working within a specialist clinical environment. Collaborative working with theCardiologyMulti-Disciplinary Team (MDT)will be a key aspect, forging robust working relationsin order toadvance the delivery of pharmaceutical care.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist Medicine at GUH, to deliver a robust and patient-centredpharmacy service within the Medicine Division.
This post is full-time, 37.5hrs per week and would encourage an informal visitto discuss the post.
Main duties of the job

Delivery of specialist pharmacy services within GUH,byworking as part of theteam of MedicineDirectorate Pharmacists.

Workingclosely with theCardiologyMDT,attendingward roundsto deliver clinical pharmacy servicesto this specialist area.

Workingalongside the MDT to manageCardiologymedicines expenditure, and horizon scanning for new and economically beneficial treatment options.

Working with medical and nursing colleagues to develop medicines policies and guidelines that promote evidence based and economical prescribing, embedding national strategies into clinical practice.

Strong teamwork and communication skills are vital for this role, and the post holder will work alongside pharmacists, pharmacytechniciansand pharmacy assistants to deliver a patient-focused pharmacy service.

Delivery of education and training to pharmacist trainees, juniorpharmacistsand multidisciplinary colleagues;focusingondevelopments in pharmaceutical care withinCardiology.

Collaborative working with pharmacy colleagues across all sites tomaintaincontinuity of care forpatients, andenhance working practices.
