Job summary
We are seeking a confident, dynamic Violence Prevention & Reduction (VPR) Manager to help drive a positive safety culture and ensure our staff feel supported, safe, and secure at work. As a subject matter the post holder will support with the implementation of our Health Board Violence Prevention & Reduction Strategy and be involved in national work, delivering the requirements of the Obligatory Responses to Violence in Healthcare directive. The person will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies in line with legislation.
This role will ensure suitable and sufficient risk assessments are undertaken and recorded whilst acting as a key point of contact for staff providing them with expert, specialist support, displaying a consistent, compassionate responses to all incidents. Working closely with internal teams and external multi-agency partners, the post holder will work to improve incident management, reduce risk across all areas of the health board, and support the delivery of a safer environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have the operational responsibility and support the Deputy Head of Violence Prevention & Reduction with the day-to-day needs of the service. This will include managing projects in line with the Health Board Violence Prevention Strategy as well as co- ordinating and conducting violence and aggression incidents within the workplace supporting the Deputy Head of Violence Prevention & Reduction and the overall Health & Safety Team.
To be responsible for ensuring suitable and sufficient risk assessments are undertaken and recorded whilst acting as a keep point of contact for staff providing them with expert, specialist support in the subject matter. This will include promoting a proactive safety and positive culture across all areas of the organisation.
The post holder will develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures which will impact across the whole of the organisation. This includes compliance with legislation and statutory obligations.
The post holder will be required to work with all the Divisions within the Health Board and also engage with a range of statutory multi-agency partners and the Third Sector.

To act as a subject matter expert on violence reduction and support on the implementation of national standards and guidance across the organisation.
