Job summary

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with lived experience of Autism to join the Integrated Autism Service as a Peer Support Worker. The post holder will offer connection, engagement and practical support.

The Peer Support Worker will work amongst a multi-disciplinary team, supporting service users. The role builds relationships based on trust, respect, and mutuality, using lived experience to support individuals to explore what matters to them, using autism-specific tools, approaches, and your own insights. You'll help people shape their own goals and plans to support wellbeing.

The successful post holder will support and receive support by all members of the Integrated Autism Team as well as the Peer Support Development Service.

Main duties of the job

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are committed to delivering quality services based on the needs of the people who use them. As a Peer Support Worker, you will be an expert by experience, working within a multi-disciplinary team and using a person-centred, strengths based approach whilst working directly with service users.

In order to be eligible for this role it is a requirement that you have a diagnosis of Autism.

The role will also include some administrative duties, including recording on electronic patient records. You may be working with groups, individuals and agencies external to the NHS.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
