Business Support Manager

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated Business Support Manager to join the Surgery Division within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Reporting to the Service Transformation Manager, this post will play a key role in supporting the Divisional Management Team to deliver both operational and transformation priorities across a range of surgical and outpatient specialties.

The post holder will provide comprehensive business, project and administrative support to ensure the effective coordination, monitoring and delivery of divisional objectives. They will support performance reporting, governance arrangements, business case development and service improvement projects, working collaboratively with clinical and managerial colleagues across the Division.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and teamwork, and who is keen to develop experience in operational management and service transformation in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job

Provide high-quality business and project support to the Divisional Management Team.

Coordinate Divisional governance meetings, including preparing agendas, papers and action logs.

Produce reports, performance dashboards and presentations to support divisional decision-making.

Support the development of business cases, service improvement initiatives and workforce or financial plans.

Manage and maintain Divisional documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and Terms of Reference.

Work closely with Operational Managers, Clinicians and Corporate Colleagues to drive forward transformation and efficiency improvements.

Support procurement and budget management processes, ensuring compliance with Health Board policies.

The post holder will need to demonstrate flexibility, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

This post is fixed term / secondment for 12 months from start date to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
