Dietetic Support Worker- Public Health and Community Dietetics Team
Would you like to help the public health dietetic team provide nutritional education to learners across Gwent?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietetic Support Worker with an interest in nutrition to work as part of the ABUHB Community Dietetics Team. We are a small but dynamic team of Dietitians and Assistant Practitioners who support nutrition education across local authority, health and education settings, creating positive impact on the nutrition of the population across Gwent.
The post holder will require advanced communication skills to support engagement with learners, patients and local authority / third sector stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is organised and likes to work in a community healthcare environment, who enjoys completing administrative tasks to support registered healthcare staff. There may also be opportunity to work in a patient facing capacity and therefore those who also enjoy working in a caring role, have good communication skills and can champion the importance of nutrition in the healthcare setting with enthusiasm would be an ideal fit.
You will carry out organisational or administrative tasks as designated by the registered dietitian or administrative lead e.g. booking learners into courses, securing teaching venues and resources, and taking telephone queries from patients and learners contacting the team.
Whilst based at Ty Gwent in Cwmbran, this post holder will work with the team of community dietitians working across the main ABUHB hospitals and boroughs. Travel to teaching locations across Gwent will occasionally be required.
