Job summary
The Department of Respiratory are appointing an IMT (Senior Clinical Fellow) level doctor to support acute Respiratory in-patients at the Grange University Hospital. This is a 39 bedded ward, with an additional 6 Respiratory High Care beds located adjacent to Critical Care.
The post will be ward based with the opportunity to attend specialist outpatient clinics, and the Respiratory Ambulatory Care Unit.
The successful applicant will consolidate their existing skills and experience in medicine within a busy Respiratory department. Exposure to a wide range of Respiratory specific conditions with place them in an excellent position when applying for further training within the speciality.
The post will include on call in General Internal medicine at the IMT 3 level on the on call rota.

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities are for the effective and appropriate medical care of inpatients admitted under the care of Respiratory.
The duties and responsibilities will be appropriate to the grade and speciality with appropriate consultant supervision.
This will include the assessment, monitoring, and initiating treatment, with colleagues and under consultant supervision.
Attend consultant and multidisciplinary ward rounds and supervise relevant junior medical students who may rotate through the directorate.
Undertake regular unsupervised ward rounds on the relevant ward to ensure patients are making satisfactory progress.
Complete discharge summaries in a timely fashion.
Attend clinic as part of continuing professional development
