Job summary
o This is a key management role within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, with responsibility for supporting a wide-ranging agenda through the delivery of patient-centred, safe, effective primary healthcare services across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.o The post holder will support the Senior Primary Care Managers with the delivery, contract management and long-term strategic planning of primary care services across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. They will also support the Senior Primary Care Managers in taking forward the strategic agenda for the Health Board including the implementation of A Healthier Wales, developing new models of care and working in collaboration.o As such they will be responsible for collaborating and negotiating with contractors, service providers and professional committees to identify and achieve service development and improvement, evaluating through performance management and lead the production and delivery of specific plans and projects to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.o The post holder will act as the day-to-day contact for resolving contract management issues that arise within primary care. This will involve providing and receiving highly complex, highly sensitive or highly contentious information where there are barriers to understanding or acceptance, which are overcome using developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Main duties of the job
o Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring primary care contracts for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board incorporating NHS guidanceand policies/strategic direction in Wales.o Managing the primary care contracts including variations and performance management.o Supporting the development of new models of service delivery in line with Welsh Government (WG) policies, Neighbourhood Care Network plans,The Primary Care Plan for Wales and strategic direction.o Working with key stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation to develop new service models for primary care working closely withlocality teams.o Developing, implementing and monitoring the Primary Care Strategy and Primary Care Strategy for Estates ensuring that they meet the needs of ourpopulation and improve access.o Assisting with the management of the Primary Care budgets including contractor's fees and allowances.o Ensuring that knowledge of legislation relating to Primary Care professions is kept updated.o Support the Primary Care transformation work programme

Act as the day-to-day contact for resolving contract management issues that arise within primary care. To liaise with members of the public who may contact the Primary Care Contracting Team seeking help in accessing NHS services and ensure aprofessional approach is adopted to dealing with ad hoc public enquiries. Governance work programme for all primary care contractors. To continually review the annual audit process to ensure it is robust and fit for purpose. This involves prosing and implementing revisions based on lessons learnt in previous audits. To utilise findings from trends and themes identified through practice development visits, quality assurance mechanisms and contractor monitoring processes to develop action plans and ensure the development of Primary Care contractor services.
