Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Analytical Services to lead our analytics function. This is a pivotal role at the heart of transforming how data drives decision-making across the organisation, ensuring high-quality insights to support both operational delivery and strategic ambitions.
Reporting to the Head of Information Management and Analytics and accountable to the Deputy Director of Digital, Data and Technology (Chief Information Officer), you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative analytics solutions and embed a data-driven culture across the Health Board.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direction to the Health Board's analytics teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Champion the use of advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and data science to improve patient care, service delivery and strategic planning.
- Oversee the design and delivery of analytical tools and products to support clinicians, managers, and executives in decision-making.
- Represent the Digital, Data and Technology Directorate at internal and external forums, including NHS Wales and Welsh Government.
- Ensure effective use of the NHS Wales National Data Resource (NDR), maximising opportunities from emerging technologies such as the Google Cloud Platform.
- Lead staff development, creating an environment that supports innovation, learning, and professional growth.
