Senior Modelling and Analytics Lead

Job summary

This is an essential role to provide the underpinning evidence and understanding of our communities and Health System so we can work collaboratively with and for our population. This role leads the corporate analytics and modelling team for the Health Board, collaborating with divisions, analysts, and clinicians to provide evidence on service performance and supporting organisational strategy. Responsibilities include producing analyses, advancing data modelling, and developing tools for data acquisition and management. The position offers insight into the impact of changes, helping ensure efficient and equitable healthcare across Gwent. This is a pivotal time to join as we strengthen our ability to support improvement throughout the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide leadership and strategic guidance for insight and modelling practices, which are essential to enabling the Health Board to deliver high-quality, comprehensive, and coordinated services. They will be responsible for facilitating collaboration with staff across all Divisions, including operational, transformation, DDaT, and Public Health teams, overseeing the analysis and collection of data via Health Board platforms, and producing targeted insights, models, reports, and advisory information to support the Health Board and its partners in delivering and enhancing healthcare services. The post holder will deputise for the Head of System Planning and Performance, supporting the Clinical Futures Team in informing healthcare activity, shaping future policy, and planning resource requirements. Working alongside the Head of System Planning and Performance, they will take a leading role in analysing major service changes within the Health Board, contributing to strategy development and the IMTP planning process and submissions.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Educated to master's level in a relevant subject or equivalent demonstrable level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist analytical area and extensive senior experience in public health or health inequalities
