Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Practitioner to assist in leading Recovery stages 1 and 2. The Day Surgery Unit (DSU) is a high turnover unit currently running 5 Theatres, specialising in a range of surgical disciplines including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Plastics and Pain.
The role is an excellent opportunity to advance your clinical leadership skills and support education for team members within the surgical setting.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills who can empower and inspire a team.
Staff are expected to support other sites within the health board, when necessary, thus the successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility within their service.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will oversee the pre/post operative stages, ensuring smooth patient flow, managing staff, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction, coordinating admissions and discharges.The post holder will support the existing leads and will undertake clinical, clerical, and audit responsibilities to support the efficient running of the unit and ensure continuous improvement in service quality and patient care.
The post holder will be expected to provide pre- and post-operative care to elective patients. To deputise for the Ward Manager as required.
