This post is fixed term for 24 months to meet the needs of the service.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a fixed term/secondment to the role of Deputy Director of Strategy, Planning and Partnerships. This crucial role will lead on key strategic and delivery issues for the Health Board and will work directly with Executive Directors, Local Authority and Third Sector leaders as well as Clinical Leads in shaping the design and implementation of its strategic plans. The individual will also work with colleagues in neighbouring Health Boards in the development and implementation of Regional Plans, translating strategy into delivery plans.

This is a pivotal role in transforming the way health care is provided across Gwent and the broader South East Wales region over the coming years. The role will be accountable for developing long term strategy for the organisation and wider Gwent partnership. Reflecting a growing and ageing population, increasing demand for our services, changing technology and new models of care, the post holder will develop plans to deliver a sustainable health care system with our partners whilst engaging with the local communities to shape services to meet the outcomes that are important to people.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Director will be the organisational lead for the Regional Partnerships Board and oversee the Regional Partnership Board Programme Management Office and associated revenue and Capital Programmes of over £50m. The Deputy Director will also work closely with the Senior Planning Team to ensure that key clinical service redesign and the capital programme is delivered on time and within the specifications agreed and ensure that all specialist services are planned on a sustainable basis. The post holder will also be accountable for the Organisations Programme Management Office, supporting the translation of strategy into clear and deliverable programmes of change.
