Practitioner Psychologist Homelessness Service

Job summary

This post for a Practitioner Psychologist to join established psychology team in Adult Mental Health. The overall aim of this post is to increase access to psychological therapies for homeless people and staff who work with them. The postholder will:

Provide a psychological service to adults in the population served by the Homelessness service as directed by the Principal Clinical Psychologist or the Head of Specialty. This includes, work with individuals, groups, families, significant others, and consultation work advising multi-agency staff on the psychological aspects of a persons presenting difficulties. It involves conducting psychological assessments and the delivery of appropriate therapeutic interventions for the full range of referred difficulties accepted by the service. It involves outreach work and provision of drop-ins to homelessness services, and support the development of psychologically informed environments.

To provide teaching, training and supervision.

To conduct and supervise research and audit is a major responsibility of the job.

To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary/ multi-agency project and to contribute to the activities and developments of the team.
