THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR UPTO 9 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
The Performance analyst will support the reporting processes across the Regional Cataracts Project and will take a lead role inthe cataracts performance reporting requirements for the organisation. Based within the Planning and Performance Team, thisis an exciting opportunity to join the team and to bring together data from across Aneurin Bevan, Cwm Taf Morgannwg, andCardiff and Vale. The post holder will play a key role in driving improvement, reporting and providing insight to support thedecisions that we make to improve performance, with a clear insight into the cause and effect of change to inform ourapproach to delivering cataract services across three Health Boards and with private sector partners. It is an exciting time tojoin the team as we build our capability to understand and support improvement across the three Health Boards in this area.
This is a fixed term role.

Main duties of the job
To work to achieve agreed objectives, working within broad professional policies. Working independently without directreference to their manager.
This is a key role within the Regional Cataracts Project and the support of the Planning and Performance Team will provide theprofessional support to integrate this regional programme within ABUHB.
The postholder will develop reports, provide evidencefor strategic and operational decisions to inform short-medium and long-term decisions. Collaboration is at the heart of how we work with three health boards and our private providers. This role will requireexperience in using appropriate reporting approaches in a related field for reporting, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. The post holder will use their skills and experience to develop innovative approaches and direction to partners engaging in performance activity.

The post holder will be required to work closely with the SeniorProgramme Manager for Regional Ophthalmology and the Head of System Planning and Performance to reportprogress against the delivery of Cataracts Plan, IMTP and escalation reporting requirements. They will also be required to develop strong working relationships with colleagues across all three health boards foroperational links, informatics and planning links, to monitor the impact of the organisations plans and track ourprogress. The post holder will be expected to provide assurance, highlight any variances in performance and bring performanceissues to the attention of the Senior Programme Manager for Regional Ophthalmology and the Head of SystemPlanning and Performance. This will be facilitated by collating data from a variety of sources and will involve directcommunication and liaison with performance leads and senior managers across the region. Analysing and interpreting the information the post holder will ensure that all internal and external performancereports that are produced represent an accurate reflection of performance and meet timescales imposed To produce statistical analytical reports for stakeholders, which will require the setting up and adjusting formulae. The post holder will assist and deputise, where appropriate, for the Cataracts Project Manager.
