The post holder is responsible for the delivery of nursing practice to the whole of the Prison population. As an autonomous practitioner the post holder is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management of patients. In addition, they will work collaboratively within the Prison Healthcare Team to meet the needs of all patients, support the delivery of policy and procedures, and provide nurse leadership as required.
Main duties of the job

We would require applicants to have been qualified with relevant experience, as much of the care is nurse-led and encourages decision making. The department is well supported by a team of GPs and Allied Health Professionals. They are constantly striving to improve the standard of care delivery to prisoners and to make innovative changes, which will further enhance the service.
