Job summary

An exciting career opportunity has arisen within the In Patient Scheduling Team. The post holder will be responsible for the booking of Outpatient, Inpatient treatments, also the management of waiting lists and the validation of Referral to Treatment Time (RTT) pathways.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all protocols are adhered to and undertake appropriate action in necessary adhering to RTTrules.

The post holder will plan, prioritise and organise theatre and clinic lists, taking into account such matters as pre-assessment, availability ofequipment, clinicians, clinical need, case mixes, etc. To possess the ability to adjust accordingly in line with any changes.

To manage own workload to defined departmental policies and procedures, a manager will be available for reference when requiredEach scheduler deals with a large volume of individual theatre and clinic lists, making the appropriate allocation of patients within definedtimescales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Good general education including English and Mathematics at GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience to NVQ Level 3
  • IT skills in relation to Microsoft packages including word/excel
  • Experience of handling telephone calls of a potentially sensitive nature whilst recording information accurately into multiple electronic data systems
