Job summary
Are you a Dietitian interested in working in the rewarding environment of Critical Care? We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with some existing post registration experience to join us for a fixed term opportunity to cover a secondment within the team.
We will support your development within this role via our CPD programme and regular clinical supervision with the relevant Lead Dietitians. Funding to complete related courses e.g. BDA Introduction to Critical Care course, BDA specialist group webinars and study days.
This post is a fixed term contract until 31/3/26 to cover the needs of the service. We will consider candidates requesting part time hours, or those wishing to apply for a secondment. If the latter is the case, please confirm with your existing line manager that they will be able to release you on secondment before applying.
Main duties of the job
Your role will primarily involve inpatient dietetic care of patients in the Grange University Hospital where you will spend the majority of your clinical time on our critical care unit. This is a mixed speciality unit so you will gain experience in devising nutritional care plans for a variety of patient groups including surgical, respiratory and gastroenterology patients. This will include patients on enteral or parenteral nutrition or oral nutrition support. You will work closely with other members of the critical care MDT and be involved in the weekly MDT meetings.
We are a team of 30+ dietitians working across the specialities of Nutrition Support, Gastroenterology, Stroke, Oncology and Diabetes and work with a team of 14 dietetic support and admin staff. We actively participate in the dietetic student training programme for Wales.
Our core department hours are 8.30 - 4.30 but we work flexibly and within our guidance there will be scope for you to adjust working hours to fit around personal commitments.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
