Job summary
An exciting part-time vacancy has arisen with the Usk and Raglan district nursing team for an enthusiastic and supportive administrator. The post will be 5 hours each day, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for someone with proven excellent administration, communication and IT skills. You must have a good telephone manner with good organisational skills, a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service and be able to work as part of a team and cope with pressures at busy times.
You must have an understanding of the principles of confidentiality due to nature of work.
Awelcoming manner is essential as you will have direct contact with families and health professionals. This post is office based.
Main duties of the job
o To provide an efficient, effective and confidential secretarial/administrative support service to the Usk DistrictNurses.o To be the interface between the surgeries, service users and District Nursing Team.o To manage own workload and work independently to departmental policies and procedureso To regularly communicate, consult, support and work closely with service managers, GPs, patients and the IntegratedTeams.o To be the first point of contact when responding to incoming queries in a timely manner, re-directing to the appropriateteam member if appropriate, being mindful of the sensitive nature of some enquiries and possible distress of enquirers.o To act as the team's coordinator answering telephones, responding to enquiries, recording messages, taking action and/orinforming the team leader or nurse when relevant. To liaise with and deal promptly with their queries and concerns andprovide information and advice to patients or their carers regarding nursing visits.o To be responsible for the inputting, updating and storing of essential confidential patient information onto the livedatabase. Make adjustments as they arise, informing team members if this impacts their visits to patients.o To regularly prompt the nursing team for details of patient activity and required changes, including those discharged fromcaseloads to update the daily work schedule.
