Job summary
Overseeing strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and fostering continuous improvement. Your role will be to support the Head of Health, Safety & Fire and transform our current systems into an effective health and safety management system that demonstrates levels of assurance.
A strategic leadership at a corporate level is essential for developing and advancing the Health and Safety agenda throughout the Health Board.
You will have all the necessary qualifications and knowledge required to provide professional leadership and strategic direction of health, safety & fire and compliance with regulatory bodies, supporting the delivery of high quality, safe care for all who visit or work at the Health Board.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have responsibility for the Health & Safety Management Team for the Health Board and support the Head of Health, Safety & fire with the day to day running of the department, covering all functions.
To be responsible for providing specialist advice, training and support to staff on health and safety related issues and contribute to the wider risk management agenda.
This will require specialist knowledge and practical demonstration across a range of health and safety activities.
To advise on compliance with Statutory Legislation in health and safety in liaison with the relevant enforcing authority.
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
