Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for ahighly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the ABUHB Pathology team as Pathology Digital Operations Manager.
As the Pathology Digital Operations Manager, you will work as part of the Pathology Management team and in collaboration with the Health Board Informatics Programme. The successful applicant will manage a small team who support existing digital systems and will lead on a range of operational and strategic plans for service development across the department. You will represent Pathology at a Health Board and National level.
The post is 37.5 hours per week based at The Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, however the post holder will work across all Aneurin Bevan sites as required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Provide operational, tactical and strategic management and leadership in relation to all aspects of the Pathology Digital agenda.
- Take the lead on production and implementation of policy and process, plans, documentation, support, guidance and training for appropriate staff.
- Lead on a range of Pathology operational/strategic plans for performance improvement across sites, including diagnostic work in order to develop solutions and imparting sometimes unwelcome news to generate need for change.
- Manage service improvement initiatives including implementation of change, supporting and training teams as appropriate.
- Act as a budget manager for a range of highly complex, highly sensitive Pathology managed initiatives.
- Act as a line manager for the in house Digital Pathology team members, and as a point of contact for departmental Digital/IT leads.
- Contribute to the organisation's performance improvement development culture through developing and participating in training sessions, in conjunction with other Senior Managers within the directorate.
