Job summary
To work unsupervised in the provision of hearing screening in schools and clinics in a defined geographical area.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
To carry out unsupervised screening of children's hearing in schools within a defined geographical area. To work within defined screening protocols, but use own initiative in their application.
To plan and book screening sessions at schools in a defined geographical area.
To complete computer records of screening results and to make any necessary referrals into the Community Audiology.
To liase with audiology staff, school staff, school nurses and parents regarding any concerns with hearing of individual children.
To distribute parental consent forms and other necessary documentation prior to school screening.
To carry out daily checks on audiometers and report any problems to the Community Audiologist.
To carry out unsupervised screening of children's hearing in community clinic.
