Job summary
We are seeking a part-time Child Development Advisor (CDA) who is enthusiastic about promoting the development and emotional well-being of children and young people with developmental delay or disability and their families. The post holder will promote development through play in children aged up to three years old and provide support and advice to their family and other people involved in their care. They will work alongside colleagues in the children's centres to plan and implement a holistic approach to care. The CDA team have close links with the clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, parent carer counsellor and parent carer peer mentor in the Children's Centre Psychology (CCP) team. They also sit within the wider Child and Family Psychological Therapies service, and this allows many opportunities for connections and support.
The postholder will have a passion for working with children and young people with developmental delay and a strong values base with an emphasis on promoting relationships, building skills and promoting quality of life.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role in promoting the development of children and young people with developmental delay or disability, and providing support to their families and the staff who support them, through:
1. Direct work with the child and their parents
2. Liaison with and working alongside colleagues to provide a holistic approach to care
