Job summary

We currently have a vacancy for a Band 5 Registered Nurse in Ward 2/3, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital, Ystrad Mynach. The post provides a diverse range of care within General Surgery.

General Surgery has established and well organised wards with excellent performance in multi disciplinary working and discharge rates.

The directorate is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who is keen to pursue a career within General Surgery, and be part of our new venture.

Candidates are required to be flexible and reliable in their approach to work. In return the directorate will demonstrate a commitment to both personnel and professional development to the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

To assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care using an agreed patient pathway.

To act as a patient advocate through the application of ethical, legal and professional knowledge and skills

To work within agreed policies and procedures

Participate in relevant data collection for clinical trials

To liaise and communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team in the planning and delivery of patient care.

To maintain accurate records / standards for documentation

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
