Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 4 Assistant Practitioners to join our nursing team at the Royal Gwent Hospital

The post holder will provide high level support in the provision of quality interventions to meet the needs of patients requiring nursing and clinical care, as an Assistant Practitioner .

To provide clinical support to implement planned care to patients under the indirect supervision of Registered Nurses.

To work within a designated team but with the ability to work independently as required.

To demonstrate an awareness of the limits of personal professional practice and knowledge and recognise when to seek appropriate support/advice.

Main duties of the job

This is an innovative role which will be a key part of the ward team providing essential support to Registered Nurses and delivering direct patient care through enhanced skills. You will also supervise HCSW's at Band 2.

The candidate will have experience in caring for adults in a health based environment ideally in a hospital setting.

Candidates must possess an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent appropriate qualification to diploma level PLUS short courses or relevant experience to diploma level).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
