Job summary

This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic receptionist to join the team at Brynmawr Surgery. We have available x1 20 hour fixed term position (Ending 29/03/2024)

You will have a good standard of general education to GCSE level, with previous experience of working as a GP receptionist.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work well under pressure with the ability to multi-task whilst staying organised. You will be a team player.

The successful candidate will provide a high quality administrative service to patients, doctors and colleagues and will be the first point of contact for patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of appointments and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in an organised, efficient and caring manner.

The post holder will also provide administrative support and general assistance to clinical staff and Nursing Homes to provide Enhanced Service. Maintain Chronic Disease registers and send letters to patients who are due for tests and annual reviews.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
