Job summary
The SCAMHS Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) aims to work with young people, families/carers and other agencies when they are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The role will be to work alongside the care co-coordinator and other team members to deliver therapies and interventions for young people and their families.
The post-holder will be following mental health professionals care plans which consider mental health assessment, risk assessment, safety planning and problem solving.
Main duties of the job
- To provide an accessible and responsive service.
- To help to provide focused, specialist psychological therapy and psychiatric intervention to the under 18 population in Gwent.
- To participate directly in the process of improving multidisciplinary and multi-agency working within Gwent.
- Alongside the multi-disciplinary team, to work towards improving access to services.
- To offer child and family centred care.
- To be a key part of a service that is responsive to the needs of the young person and their families.
- Prevention and/or treatment of mental disorder, and the consequences of emotional distress
- Equity of service.
- To be part of a service that aims towards improved training and supervision of staff.
- Development of consultation and formulation between all agencies.
- Audit, research and service development.
- The post holder will have a key role in supporting the practice of other professional staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
